Temperature and wine


A wine's qualities are most fully evident when the wine is served at the proper temperature. Therefore served at the following temperatures:

  •     sparkling wines at 4-6 °C
  •     rosés and vermouths at 8-10 °C
  •     white wines at 10-12 °C
  •     aszu wines; sweet, special quality and white dessert wines; sherries; and Malaga at 10-14 °C
  •     red wines at 16-20 °C
  •     good brandies and cognacs taste best when served at a hand-warm temperature.
